Save on energy bill
Do you mainly want to save on your energy bill? Then go for an upgrade of your solar system. With better solar panels you generate more electricity yourself and therefore immediately see your energy bill decrease.
Lower gas bill
Do you want to get off gas or lower your gas bill? Then a heat pump is a good option. You can choose an air conditioner (cooling and heating) or a heat pump boiler (heating domestic hot water).
Future-proof system
If you want to get rid of high feed-in costs or prepare for the abolition of the net metering regulation, then a home battery is an interesting option. With this you store your own solar power for later use. This way you don't suffer from high feed-in costs and make your system future-proof.
Without major adjustments
Do you want to make your home more sustainable but prefer not to make major adjustments to your home? Then a heat pump is a good choice.
Financial benefits
Various financial benefits can be achieved with sustainability measures. For example, you can reclaim VAT on the home battery, there is the ISDE subsidy of €725 available for the heat pump boiler, and you can apply for sustainability loans from SVn and the Warmtefonds.

With batteries you can achieve a greater degree of self-sufficiency. When you are not at home during the day, but are in the evening after sunset, you can ensure that the energy generated during the day is stored in batteries, to become available again in the evening for your consumption devices. With the introduction of feed-in costs and dynamic energy contracts, installing batteries has become an interesting option, with which you can also arm yourself against power outages.
The abolition of the net metering regulation on January 1, 2027 is final. You can still fully benefit from the net metering regulation as it is now for two years. Smart to take advantage of this: either by installing solar panels, or by placing a home battery, of which you can recoup a large part of the purchase costs in the next two years by trading on the imbalance market. From January 1, 2027 it will mainly become important to increase your own consumption. That means: adjusting the moments when you consume electricity to the moments when the sun shines.
You cannot apply for a subsidy for solar panels as a private individual, but you can with your business. There are currently no subsidies for home batteries and air conditioners. For a heat pump boiler, the ISDE subsidy is available.
