Messages About Grid Connection

18/08/2016 | Last updated on 07 juli 2025

The system displays the message 'Grid Outage' or 'Phase(s) or Neutral Conductor Not Connected' when the inverter detects that there is no voltage on the AC side (the grid side).

When an inverter detects that there is no voltage coming from the grid, it immediately stops feeding electricity into the system. This is an automatic safety mechanism required by regulations. For example, if an electrician shuts off the grid power for maintenance work, they must be able to rely on the fact that solar panel systems are not secretly feeding power back into the grid.

If you see this message, it is often due to a tripped circuit breaker or residual-current device (RCD) in the main panel. Check your electrical panel and switch the solar power group back on. The inverter should start working again automatically. For inverters connected via a so-called ‘washing machine socket’—on the same circuit as a washing machine or dryer—there is usually an additional small panel near the washing machine. Be sure to check if the breakers in that panel are properly switched on as well.

Sometimes, a neighborhood power outage can cause this message to appear. If that is the case, the inverter will resume operation automatically once power is restored.

Note: If you have reset the inverter due to a monitoring issue, the AC side was temporarily disconnected. In this case, you may see this message, but you can ignore it. If everything is working correctly, the AC power has already been restored, and the inverter should be operating normally.
