The SMA Sunny Boy 1.5, 2.0 or 2.5 can be connected to the router via an ethernet cable, or wirelessly using Wi-Fi. If there is no data coming thorugh to the internet, it can help to reset the inverter. This means: removing the power to the unit fom both sides (both from the grid as well as from the solar panels), and then reconnecting them again.
In order to perform a reset, follow these steps

Step 1: Turn off the AC power
Switch off the AC power to the inverter. You can do this by turning off the AC power switch close to the inverter (if one has been installed), or by switching off the circuit breaker in the distribution board. You can recognize the correct circuit breaker by the sticker with the Zonnefabriek logo.

Step 2: Switch off the DC side
Now switch off the DC side. You can do this on the inverter itself. Turn the black button on the left side of the unit from '1' to '0'.

Step 3: Wait until the lights are off
Now the power on both AC and DC side has been cut off from the inverter, but some voltage will remian for a brief while, as the capacitors slowly discharge. You can tell by the LED lights on the unit that there is still some power. After about half a minute all the lights will go off and the unit will be completely de-energized.

Stap 4: Reconnect the DC side
Now we must restart the inverter. We start on the DC side by switching the black switch on the left side of the inverter back to '1'. If the sun is shining, you will now normally see a green light starting to blink.

Step 5: Reconnect the AC side
Now we must reconnect the AC side. Either switch the AC side near the inverter back on, or else go back to the districution panel and switch the circuit breaker back to the 'up' position

Step 6: Wait for the data to come back
After a while the data will normally start to be received by the portal server once again. It may take a while before the graphs with all the daily, monthly and yearly production are borught back to the screen. Normally there is a lag in the graphs of a few hours.
