Which Mounting Systems for Which Roof Types?
Zonnefabriek offers different mounting systems for flat and sloping roofs. Incorrect installation can damage both the solar panels and the roof and may affect performance. That's why it's crucial to ensure perfect installation.
What Mounting Systems Are Used for a Flat Roof?
For flat roofs, Zonnefabriek uses Esdec FlatFix, Schletter, or SunBeam. These mounting systems are designed for easy and fast installation of solar panels on flat or slightly sloped roofs. The systems are weighted down with ballast.
FlatFix is available in three standard angles: 15°, 20°, and 30°. With its unique aerodynamic design, FlatFix can withstand wind speeds of up to 13BF with minimal ballast weight. The FlatFix brackets are made from high-quality aluminum and stainless steel. The FlatFix system can be used to mount almost all types of solar panels.
For larger systems on flat roofs, we often choose Sunbeam (with a 12° tilt angle). The advantage of SunBeam is that large systems are connected, requiring less ballast to stay securely in place.
What Mounting Systems Are Used for a Sloping Roof?
For sloping roofs, we prefer using Schletter mounting materials for solar panel installation. This system is very robust and exerts minimal pressure on the roof tiles. This minimizes the risk of damage to both the roof and solar panels.
In some cases, if the Schletter system is not suitable, the ClickFit system is used instead. The advantage of these mounting systems is that they can be used in nearly all situations.
