Through the ennexOS monitoring portal, you can now charge your SMA battery whenever you want. This allows you to take advantage of low electricity prices at night, for example: charge when it's cheap and consume power when it's convenient for you.
(Until recently, this was possible on the classic Sunny Portal, but not on the newer ennexOS. Now that it is possible, there's no reason not to migrate your system from the old portal to the new one if you're still using the old one. Click here to see how.)
Step 1: ennexOS
Log in to your account on the ennexOS website (ennexos.sunnyportal.com). Click on the cog wheel icon for configuration.

Step 2: energy management
Go to 'energy management'

Step 3: Battery
Click on the pencil icon next to 'Battery'

Step 4: Time-controlled battery charging
Swipe the marker to the right for 'Time-controlled battery charging'

Step 5: Set charging time period
You can now set one or more charging time windows. For example, if you want to charge every day, except weekends, click on "Only certain days."

Step 6: Select days
Select the days of the week by clicking on the day boxes

Step 7: Select hours
Select the time period during the day you want to charge the battery by clicking 'Edit' under 'Time Period'

Step 8: Enter hours
For example, here we chose to charge the battery every weekday between 3 and 4 am

Step 9: Charging power
Finally, you can adjust the charging power (the automatically entered value is the maximum). Then click 'Save'

Step 10: End
Now you've set everything. The battery will start charging at the desired time and at the set power. If solar power is available at that time, it will be used for charging. If not, grid power will be used to charge the battery. Charging stops when the time period ends or when the battery is 100% full. You can change the setting at any time by following the same steps.
